AGE—- MINIMUM AGE OF 13

Online Course in US Soccer Learning Center

Two hour field training, dates are listed under “Upcoming Event”

Background screening and SafeSport required if over 18

Registration Instructions - Reopening July 1

Step 1

  1. Use this link to create an account at the US Soccer Learning Center https://learning.ussoccer.com/referee
    1. You will need the US Soccer ID  number before starting step 2 below
  2. Create an account here on ctreferee: Register
  3. Select “Sign Up” in the upper right corner
  4. Enter your information (Must have referee’s email address as primary, parent’s email is secondary)

Step 2

  1. Hover over “Courses” on the top navigation bar, when the red box appears click ‘available courses’
  2. In the menu on the left side of the screen, select Grassroots – First-Time Referees
  3. Click “Go to Course List
  4. Choose Connecticut State Referee Program First Time Referee Course #20001974
  5. After completing the online work, come back to ctreferee.net to register for a field session.

All Entry Level Courses that end prior to June 30th will be registered for the current year. Students that successfully complete these courses will receive a Referee badge for the current year and can begin refereeing immediately. Referees are required to renew their license annually for the upcoming season.

Referees that complete their Entry Level Referee Course between July 1 and December 31 will be registered for the rest of the current year and all of the following year and receive a Referee badge. These new referees will be able to referee the remaining season in addition to also being able to referee the next year before needing to renew their annual license.
